You can vote, or you can suggest a new name.
As far as prizes.... ? ... I'll buy the winner a drink? (Yes, Matt, I owe you a drink already, I haven't forgotten)

  1. How about, "Yes, We Kann!"

  2. I have no idea why I find Svetozar the funniest team name I have ever heard, but I do. The only thing that would make it funnier is an exclamation point:

    Svetozar!

    Love it.

  14. There's also a Sixties theme at this year's USAT-E. Couldn't you do something with the hippie counterculture, the Vietnam War, the Kennedy assassination, Kent State, the Beatles, or Star Trek (original series)?

For example, come dressed as Captain Kirk, Mr. Spock, Dr. McCoy and Lt. Uhura, and call yourselves "Trek Mates."

  15. "We're about to"

  16. I don't know about a name, but the team mantra should definitely be, "These pieces ain't your boss. You're the boss of them pieces."

  17. Let's face reality about who is the star:

Ms. Liz Vicary and the Supremes

No one really knows who those other guys are nor cares.

  18. In remembrance of last year's name and rating incident, how about "gggg".

The obvious one in light of the election is "Yes, We Kann".

How about "Those Who Can and Teach"

Ms. Vicary, I'm sorry you won't be considering naming the group after yourself - it would have been worth getting a team shirt with you and rest of the Supremes

  19. Persnickety, New Jersey

    Schenectad passed pawns, New York

    Mirabile dictu, Vicary! Luchan, Salman?

  20. You could call yourselves the Washington Squares. And then come to the tournament dressed as the Washington Squares.

  21. "Yes, We Kann!" suggests a willingness to wait passively behind a Caro-Slav pawn formation. Sorry, we expect New Deal activism.

While subject to the same critique, "Yes, We Kan!" is somewhat more militant.

If you want to go all PC (elliptically referencing drawing a parallel between the ordeals of Michelle's ancestors & those of Mir Sultan, who really deserves a posthumous GM title), there's "Yes, We Khan!"

    Alternatively, Svetozar! will do.

  26. Yes, who won the contest???

  27. I don't know if you have a winner yet, but if not, you could name your team "Vicaryous Thrills". That's my entry if there's still a contest.

  28. Although we entered the tournament with the name "Madoff With Your Pieces", I surely would have voted for "Vicaryous Thrills" if only
you had posted this a little earlier.

  29. Too bad I missed the deadline. Your approval means a lot to me though, like looking at someone else's position during a game & knowing I could have won. Unfortunately it doesn't appear that I'll be able to make it to USATE this year. Best of luck to "Madoff With Your Pieces" for both naming & playing.
