These pictures and the recent Frank Brady biography point out that beyond the chessboard, the games, and the matches, there was great loneliness about Fischer. Once the game was gone, it consumed him. He really never had close friends and by the time he really needed them, he didn't know how to or couldn't make them.
Two separate posts, please. Despite his faults and mental health problems, no way does Fischer deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as the other two disgusting people.
I really like the pic of Fischer laying on the bed with the board alongside....it looks idyllic, in a way.
