Its sad when our most important resource [our children] are getting less funding, and our golden treasure [our seniors] who have worked hard for years and can tell the young ones about the past are also being cut back. This will hurt us in the long run.

What a load of crap. The Democrats had all the power, both houses and the presidency and they would not pass a budget. They have only themselves to blame!

Incorrect. They have the no-talk filibuster to blame, used by Senate Republicans on every major piece of legislation in the Obama administration's first two years, not to mention a ridiculous number of routine executive and judicial appointments. You probably cheered it when it was happening; funny that you don't remember it now.

Wrong again, they actual had a super majority in the Senate to override any veto if they wanted to. They were gutless, just wanted to blame the Republicans so they start their wining to try and get reelected. So sad.

They lost their supermajority when Sen. Ted Kennedy died in August and Republican Scott Brown was elected in his place. That gave them only seven months of supermajority control. The budget issue wasn't put on the legislative calendar until afterward.

If you're going to be an obnoxious, arrogant jerk, it behooves you to at least pay attention to the details of the axes you're grinding.

And who controlled the legislative calendar, Duh !!! You made my point.

It's sad when our most important resource [overpaid school administrators] are getting less funding, and our golden treasure [overpaid government workers with inflated pensions] who have worked for years and can tell the young ones about the past are also being cut back. This will hurt us in the long run.

Somehow I don't think Kennedy's death was on the calendar when they drew it up, Anonymous.

What's up with these partisan blame games? I mean we all know you are glued to the hip to anything a democrat says but you really go around saying that people are going to suffer because they cut less than 1% of the budget?? Do you not understand that Obama's people got to pick what to cut?

You almost can't have a rational conversation anymore with people that claim to be democrat/republican, conservative or liberal.

Don't you think it depends who/what are in that 1% of the budget?
