What would the random numbers generator say about your list?

The Top 40
Top 25
& Top 10

breaks all coincide with Class break lines.

And the Top 3 (Gold, Silver, & Bronze) also are in a class by themselves.

that might be complicated by the fact that there are two teachers on the list

Obviously you care...I feel good about what do. Keep up the good work.

What did 22. John Paul Garcia 1507 do to not be mentioned as a player over 1507??? :-)

Feel free to post your rating lists anytime you want, shamelessly or otherwise. I always like seeing rating lists & crosstables; & I'm sure lots of us care. 21 players over 1500 is a major accomplishment no matter how you slice it. There's evidence of a lot of work & dedication. It looks like you're unleashing a steady stream of high intensity players onto the chess landscape & that's definitely a good thing. Super Nationals are right around the corner, so keep doing what you're doing.

Hey chesstiger, I believe #16, Mr. Galvin (1541), is one of two teachers on the list, so that would put the 1500 line at 21 [players] including #22 (now #21) John Paul Garcia (1507) unless the other teacher is above 1500 & a non-player as well. I think one of the class A's is a teacher/player, but I'm not sure.

Maybe I should have read the rest of the list first.
#40, Mr. Murnieks (1202), is probably the other teacher so, the 1500 line is at 21 players (including JP Garcia).

Shameless bragging is good for the soul! :)
Seriously, how old are the kids, and do they get an oppurtunity to play outside scholastic chess?
Best,

They are 11-14. They mostly play scholastic chess; sometimes I take them to the Marshall, but only when the school has a little extra money. Also ICC donated 20 free accounts (THANKS ICC!), so they play there too.

It's an accomplishment to get ONE preteen to that level. You should be very proud of your work!

Here's an example of how pathetic the new USCF website is. Quote from story 1 on the front page:

"Despite a 129 blindfold fight for the full point, Kamsky... "

Kamsky played 129 blindfold games? Simultaneously? Is that a new record? Does anyone read those before they are posted?

That's not what it's saying, Anony. It's saying that he wore 129 blindfolds. It helps balance White's first-move advantage.
