THE GREATEST INTERVIEW EVER
a different but also great interview with Keith Olbermann
I think that South Carolina should be disenfranchised for one national election for this. It's like they all voted for the person whose name was nicer-sounding and first, alphabetically. I know that every group of people has a bottom 10% and it's crazy to judge people by geographical place, but if this is really how most of the state votes, their opinions shouldn't count.

What a racist remark. What would Obama think?
it's not rascist; it's statist
Just to clarify: this is not how most of the state votes; this is how most of the DEMOCRATS in the state vote.
Hehehe!
The election should stand. It would be a terrible precedent to allow the government to nullify an election because it doesn't like the outcome. Furthermore, the just "punishment" for SC voters is to let the nomination to take its course, and if it so happens, for the successful candidate to serve out his term.
And how 'bout that Bob Etheridge?
Yes, Bob Etheridge: Assault, battery, and stealing a cell phone!
You're just jealous because your name starts with V.
I think he makes the perfect politician for America today. From public education to identity politics, to mooching off the various welfare and social entitlement programs, he captures it all.
Elizabeth,
more chess. less politics.
thanks.
blah blah blah if you don't like the content read something else or start paying the author money for the content you want. At the very least try not to be obnoxious.
"...this is not how most of the state votes; this is how most of the DEMOCRATS in the state vote."
Probably not strictly true. In the South Carolina primary voters could vote in whichever primary they wanted, regardless of their own party affiliation.
Abolish the 17th amendment!
Um...huh? Isn't this guy running for the House of Representatives? So what's the 17th amendment got to do with anything?
Obviously another public school graduate.
He's running for the US Senate.
I know nothing about this guy, but I think it's pretty cool. Power to the people!
Anonymous has a point.
The fellow is running for Senate. the 17th amendment caused Senators to be directly elected by the people, instead of appointd by the state government. So if the 17th amendment were repealed, we would not have nominees like this, and we would also not have Senators like Al Franken.
There have been several theories about why he won. 1) Al Greene is the name of a gospel singer, so a lot people have heard the name. 2) Black Democrats thought he was the black guy (even without seeing him) because he has a "black" name, and voted for racial reasons. 3) His name is just more pleasant sounding than his opponent, Vic Rawl (rhymes with brawl).
Mr. Shahade, due to your position-You should definitely take the high road.
I have a position? Cool!
if you do not take the high road, you will be blacklisted. but if you do not step on my thunder, I will not steal your toes.
The position is Commissioner of the USCL, Is that right?, has this recently changed?, or are we mistaken about your position.

Awesome, Doug! Why don't you smear some other people about something you're completely wrong about!
This guy is amazing. If he isn't a GOP plant, the Democratic Party in SC is worse than I thought.
You would think that at some point in this, Greene would actually DEVELOP and EXPLAIN some of these ideas that he keeps saying won him the primary.
I don't know what's going on here, but something is.
Rick Massimo
The world is far too complex to cast an intelligent vote for a public offical.
There is not enough leisure time to be an active particpant in our civil duties.
And... I wanted to add the Marshall and the Najdorf to my boring repertoire...
oh geez!!!
civic even.
I made a mess in the back of my trousers.
Why are so many getting down on this grass roots politician? He obviously has more common sense than those bad mouthing him. Good to see regular, common folk get elected. Money isn't everything!
"I made a mess in the back of my trousers."
LOL
It's pretty obvious that there are some shenanigans going on here. The guy doesn't have the wherewithal to come up with the $10,400 filing fee, he didn't raise any money to fund his campaign, he didn't attend major campaign functions that were held by his party, he had no campaign advertising, there are websites and Twitter accounts promoting him that he has nothing to do with, and he appears to be incapable of delivering a speech in which he could articulate a meaningful platform.
From Governor Sanford on down, SC is the state that just keeps on giving when it comes to being the butt of all jokes political.
